Bridal portraits are an important and memorable part of the wedding experience. These are the images you are going to look back on for your entire life. The photographs that you will frame in your home and that your children will gush over when they get older. Bridal portraits are more than just photographs, they’re a beautiful moment in time captured for eternity; you want them to be good!
During my time as a wedding photographer, I have utilized photography studios to provide my clients with a comfortable space to capture these beautiful shots. The day of your wedding will be busy and it can be easy to miss out on some of your dream wedding bridal portraits. Whether you run out of sunlight, or time, or if the weather switches up on you, there are complications that can come with capturing your dream bridal portraits on your actual wedding day. Often clients may also want their bridal portraits to feel a bit more timeless, classic, and chic.
I am a huge fan of studio bridal portraits and will always recommend them to my clients. With studio and bridal portraits you don’t need to worry about the weather, are provided with wonderful amenities, and will always walk out with timeless photography.

Get timeless photography
‘Timeless’ is a word used frequently in the wedding industry. Couples want a timeless wedding design, a timeless wedding color palette, and brides want a timeless bridal look. Many couples want their photos to also feel timeless. Remember, these images will be shared for generations to come. Your wedding venue may be a style that is currently trending, and that’s so great! However, if you want timeless photos and your wedding venue doesn’t provide the backdrop you’re dreaming of, a bridal session in a photography studio is a great idea.
I love that all of the Portland photography studios offer amenities that help you create a timeless photograph. Within the walls of each studio, you can really make some magic happen and effortlessly achieve a modern contemporary look. With beautiful backdrops, lighting, and comfort, you and your partner will be able to capture the bridal portraits of your dreams. Everyone will be in awe of how stunning the images turn out, it is true art at its finest!

Weather advantage
Outdoor weddings are a huge trend, everyone loves spending quality time in beautiful outdoor spaces! However, the weather can often throw a wrench in the plans. If you were planning on taking your bridal portraits outdoors there is a chance that you’ll be interrupted by rain, strong wind, or even crazy heat. These factors can really take away from the experience and limit how well your portraits turn out. With a studio wedding photoshoot, you don’t need to worry about the weather or the lighting.
If you’re marrying in Oregon I recommend booking a Portland photography studio for your bridal portraits. Having this time planned ahead of time will help take any stress away from the day if the weather becomes an issue. Additionally, this will help with the timeline of your wedding day! You can spend less time taking photos and more time with your loved ones. These studios are convenient for the weather but also for light! Winter and fall couples may lose light earlier, limiting the number of photos they can complete on their wedding day. Luckily, with a studio, you and your photographer can control the lighting, temperature, and more!

Amenities
A bridal portrait session can be intimidating and uncomfortable for some couples but within the walls of a photography studio, those emotions can fade away. Within the comfort of a space we have all to ourselves, we can control every element. If you want the temperature to be cooler or warmer we can bump the A/C or heat. Need some pump-up music? Let’s blast it on some speakers! Within the walls of a photography studio, we can create a comfortable creative environment that allows us to capture you and your partner to perfection.
One of my favorite things about photography studios is that they provide photographers with everything that could possibly be needed for a shoot. Most Portland photography studios have various backdrops, props, decor, and chairs that you can utilize to make your shoot feel custom to you. When we begin discussing your bridal portrait session we will talk about your vision. This is your day! It is a time for you and your partner to reflect on your love, spend quality time together, and feel beautiful!

Portland photography studios we recommend
Portland has many studios that you and your photographer can choose from for your studio wedding photoshoot. We have explored a few Portland photography studios but definitely have favored some over others. Our favorites are Cream Creative Space, Studio Northwest, and Daylight Creative Space.
Cream Creative Space
This dreamy setting is perfect for couples looking for a studio in the heart of Portland. Cream Creative Space is owned by a dear friend of ours and is a newer space. It provides so many amazing amenities for you to use during your bridal portrait session. Large windows with natural sunlight are a must in a studio. They also have various backdrops, a mini fridge with complimentary beverages, a fan, and SO much more. You have the freedom to use their props, backdrops, and more to turn the studio into your dream bridal session backdrop.
Studio Northwest
If you’re looking for a studio that has incredible natural light, Studio Northwest is your place. This large and light-flooded studio is an affordable location for your bridal portrait session. The studio allows you to rent various props. Things like velvet chairs, stools, and faux plants to help bring your vision to life. It is such a stunning space and perfect for any couple dreaming of a timeless portrait!
Daylight Creative Space
Daylight Creative Space is 1,000+ sq ft of studio space. Here, you can really spread out and get creative! The studio has beautiful hand-painted backdrops and gorgeous furnishings that really elevate your bridal portrait setting. Soak in the beautiful natural light and enjoy having this beautiful space to yourself for a few hours.
Bridal portrait sessions in photography studios will always be one of my favorite ways to capture a couple. I met up with a beautiful couple, Naji and Maysa, at Daylight Creative Studio and it was an unforgettable experience. The light was pouring in perfectly through the large wall of windows providing us with the most gorgeous natural lighting possible. By utilizing the sheer white drapes to soften the direct sunlight we ended up with an ethereal feel to some of the photos. The magic in that room was real! Naji and Maysa were naturals and leaned into the timeless, effortless, love-filled vibe we were aiming for.
Within this space, we were able to capture their love in its purest form and it resulted in some stunning images. Hopefully, Naji and Maysa’s studio bridal portrait session inspires you to explore the idea of studio bridal portraits. It is truly a magical time and a great way to guarantee that you will have the stunning wedding photos you’ve always dreamed of.
